Visit Sarasota County (VSC) has launched a new winter marketing campaign called “Share the Sunshine” to attract visitors during the peak tourism season. The campaign highlights local beaches, outdoor dining, and sunlight in its digital advertising, aiming to appeal to travelers seeking a break from colder climates.

The promotional effort directs potential visitors to a dedicated landing page that features blogs and content about local attractions, sightseeing opportunities, and events with a coastal holiday theme. The website also promotes VSC’s new Seasons of Sunshine mobile pass, which is free and offers monthly updated recommendations for destinations across Venice, Sarasota, and Longboat Key.

Erin Duggan, President and CEO at Visit Sarasota County, stated: “It’s our role to create campaigns that don’t just follow a calendar but are created with input from our local businesses and residents, and this seasonal marketing program plays strongly into this approach. Our invite to potential visitors is simple: you don’t have to suffer the cold, because a trip to our region is all it takes to take in the sunshine – and we’ve got an abundance to share.”

The campaign targets audiences in ten colder cities including Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Cincinnati, and Washington D.C., as well as warm-weather markets such as Fort Myers, Naples, Miami, Orlando and West Palm Beach. The goal is to encourage both longer vacations from northern regions and day trips or weekend escapes from nearby Florida cities. This initiative marks the first use of VSC’s annual marketing theme “Your Season, Year Round,” emphasizing Sarasota as an attractive destination throughout all seasons.

Visit Sarasota County serves as the official tourism marketing organization for Sarasota County. It works with over 450 partners through various programs aimed at supporting local businesses and employment by promoting tourism year-round.
