The City of Tallahassee is preparing for its annual Elf Night event at Dorothy B. Oven Park on Thursday, December 18, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. During the event, vehicles will not be permitted to drive through Oven Park for safety reasons. Free public parking will be available nearby at Thomasville Road Baptist Church.

Motorists traveling along Thomasville Road are advised to slow down and use caution in the area during the event, as pedestrians and law enforcement will be present. Drivers who do not plan to attend Elf Night are encouraged to take alternative routes due to expected traffic delays.

Elf Night will feature appearances by Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and elves. Upon arrival, guests wishing to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus must check in on the front lawn to receive a ticket number on a first-come, first-served basis until all tickets are distributed. Hot cocoa and cookies will be offered while supplies last.

The holiday light display at Oven Park features over 150,000 lights and opened on Thanksgiving night. The display remains open through January 1, operating from 6-10 p.m. on weekdays and 5:30-11 p.m. on weekends. Except for Elf Night, visitors can either drive or walk through the park each evening if weather permits.

For additional information about Elf Night or the holiday light display at Dorothy B. Oven Park, residents can call the holiday hotline at 850-891-3555.
