Fiscal Year 2025 marked a significant period for the City of Tallahassee, as it achieved several milestones aligned with its strategic plan. The city was recognized as a 2025 All-America City and was named the best-run city in Florida. These achievements were supported by progress in economic growth, infrastructure modernization, public safety improvements, and community development.

The city’s workforce of nearly 4,000 employees contributed to advancements such as job creation, residential development, targeted anti-poverty investments, updates to public infrastructure and transit systems, and a reduction in crime rates. These efforts were part of an ongoing strategy to enhance Tallahassee’s competitiveness and quality of life while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

City Manager Reese Goad stated, “City employees provide best-in-class municipal services to our community of approximately 200,000 neighbors, supporting them in all facets of life, work and recreation. With direction from the City Commission and our robust, five-year Strategic Plan as a guide, momentum toward our shared goals is strong.”

The annual Year in Review document summarizes these accomplishments. It highlights events such as historic snow days and large community gatherings like The Longest Table dinner. The report also notes continued economic diversification and the implementation of clean energy initiatives. According to Goad, “Thanks to the tireless efforts of City staff, progress is evident. Whether responding to natural disasters, securing major grant funding, implementing transformative infrastructure projects or reducing crime, we continue to deliver measurable results for the community. I’m proud of the work, which is driving Tallahassee forward.”
