The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) arrested Danny Francisque, 34, after a long-term investigation into marijuana trafficking in the city. The arrest followed months of detective work by TPD’s Narcotics Unit, which began in October 2025 after receiving information about large amounts of marijuana being stored and distributed from an apartment on Dixie Drive.
Detectives monitored activity at the location and found evidence consistent with illegal drug trafficking. On December 15, officers saw Francisque arrive at the apartment carrying three large boxes believed to contain marijuana. He was taken into custody and found with a firearm.
A search of the apartment uncovered about 52 pounds of marijuana. Detectives determined that the residence was mainly used for storing drugs and contained little personal property.
Further investigation led police to Francisque’s primary home on Paul Russell Road. Before executing a search warrant there, officers observed another individual removing items from the residence and placing them in a vehicle. That person was found with ammunition and over $6,000 in cash taken from the home. When police searched the residence, they found more evidence related to drug trafficking.
As part of their broader investigation, detectives reported that in 2023, TPD’s Drug Interdiction Unit intercepted a package with around 10 pounds of marijuana intended for Francisque. At that time, there was not enough evidence for an arrest.
“This arrest reflects TPD’s continued commitment to keeping illegal drugs and guns off our streets and protecting the Tallahassee community,” said TPD officials in a statement. “TPD reminds the public that if you see suspicious or criminal activity to contact TPD at 850-891-4200 or remain anonymous by calling Crime Solvers at 850-574-TIPS.”
Francisque faces charges for trafficking in marijuana (52 pounds) and use of a firearm during a felony.
