The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) has completed its second annual Chief Lawrence Revell “Babies, Bottles, and Badges” drive, gathering hundreds of baby supplies for families in need. The initiative collected items such as diapers, bottles, wipes, and hand-knit blankets to support parents and caregivers facing difficulties in providing for infants and toddlers.

This year’s effort was supported by the Tallahassee/North Florida Area Chapter of the Albany State University Alumni Association, various community partners, and City employees from TPD and the City Attorney’s Office. All donated items will be distributed through local organizations including Refuge House, Brehon Family Services, Chelsea House, Camelot Community Care, and NWF Health Network.

Chief Revell explained that the inspiration for the drive came from his own experience raising two young children while welcoming triplets into his family. He said it was community support that helped them during that time. “Our goal each year is to meet families where they are and offer support that makes a real difference,” Chief Revell said. “When our community rallies behind efforts like this, it reminds us that kindness is still at the core of who we are and strengthens the bonds that make Tallahassee such a special place to call home.”

The drive is part of TPD’s ongoing work to build stronger relationships with residents beyond traditional police duties. More information about TPD’s community programs can be found at Talgov.com/police.
