On October 4, the Tallahassee Fire Department responded to a commercial building fire at a self-storage facility on Capital Circle SW. The call was received at 6:06 p.m., and firefighters arrived within five minutes to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the single-story structure.

Firefighters forced open several large commercial roll-up doors to access the affected units and worked to contain the blaze. According to officials, “Though several units were damaged, the majority were saved thanks to fire walls inside the building and the quick response by TFD.”

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating what caused the fire.

The response included support from Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Leon County EMS, and City of Tallahassee Utilities.
