Tallahassee Animal Services will hold the Pick a ‘Pup’kin and Clear the Patch Adoption Event on October 25-26. During the event, adoption fees for all animals will be waived. The Animal Service Center will be open for walk-ins from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. Prospective adopters can also view available pets through the online kennel, which is updated hourly.

The event includes special incentives for adopters. The first 25 people to adopt a dog will receive a free pumpkin, and all adopters will be entered into a raffle for a gift basket with items for their new pet.

Renovations, referred to as ‘pupgrades,’ are nearly finished at the facility. These improvements affect the Dog Adoption Wing, Veterinary Suite, and the new Sunshine Yard, aiming to create a safer and more functional environment for animals.

The Animal Shelter Foundation is supporting this event. The organization helps Tallahassee Animal Services by providing resources to aid homeless animals in finding permanent homes.

“These renovations are bringing much-needed improvements to the Dog Adoption Wing, Veterinary Suite and new Sunshine Yard to ensure the most hospitable, functional and safe environment for all,” according to Tallahassee Animal Services.

The Animal Service Center is located at 1125 Easterwood Drive. It is currently open for walk-ins Wednesdays through Sundays from 1-5 p.m., with appointments available daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. More information about Tallahassee Animal Services and adoptable pets can be found at Talgov.com/Animals.
