The Southside Farmers Market is set to reopen on Thursday, August 28, and will continue through the end of 2025. Since its launch in 2018, the market has provided local residents with access to fresh fruits and vegetables grown by small farmers in the area. The event takes place outside the Walker-Ford Community Center at 2301 T-Pain Lane on select Thursdays from 2-6 p.m., weather permitting.

This year’s opening day is themed “Farmers Market Appreciation Market Day,” which highlights the importance of the market for both farmers and community members. The market not only offers fresh produce but also connects residents with local organizations and resources.

On opening day, attendees can receive a free reusable grocery tote while supplies last and browse Tallahassee-branded merchandise such as shirts and caps. Additional activities include free sno-cones for children provided by the Tallahassee Police Department, health screenings, popcorn, giveaways, and other offerings.

To make healthy food more accessible to all community members, the market accepts SNAP benefits and EBT cards. Those interested in learning more about the market or becoming a vendor can find information at Talgov.com/FarmersMarket.
