SeaWorld Orlando’s Howl-O-Scream event has been recognized as one of the top five best theme park Halloween events in the United States by USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. The event was also named the number one Halloween event in Florida.

This year, Howl-O-Scream introduces a new character called Havoc, who is described as “Once bound by the Sirens, he now rides free as the face of fear at Howl-O-Scream. With fire, fury and no mercy, Havoc leads guests into a night where chaos is worshipped and fear fuels the experience.” Organizers say his presence will be featured in a new stunt show titled Throttle, which includes motorcycles, fire effects, and action sequences.

To mark its national recognition, SeaWorld Orlando is offering discounted tickets through its Slash Sale promotion. Tickets start at $45.99 for select nights.

The event features five haunted houses—three of which are new this year—six themed scare zones throughout the park, four thrill rides open at night including some of Orlando’s tallest roller coasters, two roaming groups of scare actors that appear without warning, five themed bars with specialty cocktails such as the Solar Flare Margarita, limited-time food options like Spooky Teriyaki Chicken, and live entertainment including the debut of Throttle.

Howl-O-Scream runs on select nights until November 1 from 7 p.m. to midnight at SeaWorld Orlando.

SeaWorld operates several parks across locations including Orlando, San Antonio, San Diego and Abu Dhabi. The company reports that it has provided more than $20 million to nearly 1,400 organizations through its conservation fund since 2003 and has helped rescue over 42,000 animals worldwide.
