One Sotheby’s International Realty has relaunched its sports and entertainment division, aiming to provide specialized services for athletes, celebrities, and other high-profile clients. The Coconut Grove-based brokerage is led by Daniel and Mayi de la Vega. Chris Anthony, who also serves as senior vice president of the firm’s northern division, will lead the newly restructured team.

Daniel de la Vega said that Anthony proposed the idea to relaunch the division with a focus on long-term sustainability. “These sports and entertainment divisions come to market, and they just kind of fizzle out,” de la Vega stated. One Sotheby’s first launched a similar initiative in 2014 under Ben Moss, who has since moved to Compass.

Membership in the division required agents to apply and meet specific criteria, including a minimum sales volume and experience working with athlete or entertainer clients. Agents selected for the team include Kimberly Knausz, Benjamin Westby, Brian Moorman, Michael Martinez, Anna Sherrill, Jeff Miller, Madison Collum, Eddy Martinez, Roland Ortiz and others.

Anthony emphasized that their approach centers on privacy and comprehensive support for clients. “They are used to being catered to. They have their primary focus: do their jobs,” Anthony said.

Recent notable transactions involving One Sotheby’s agents include Martinez and Ortiz’s participation in the $50 million sale of a waterfront mansion in Coral Gables to musician The Weeknd, Knausz representing Rick Ross in his $35 million purchase of a home on Miami Beach’s Star Island; as well as Martinez and Dennis Carvajal’s involvement in selling David “Big Papi” Ortiz’s Pinecrest residence for $10.6 million.

According to de la Vega: “It’s not so much that we’re seeing an increase in demand from a transactional point of view. We’re seeing demand for more expensive real estate.”

The brokerage maintains a partnership with the Miami Heat basketball franchise and is currently negotiating with another major Florida sports organization.

Additional agents included in the division are Mark Nestler, John Poletto, Veroushka Volkert—who recently listed retired soccer player Sergio Busquets’ waterfront property near Fort Lauderdale for $9.8 million—Karen Elmir, Julian Calderin, Michael Raben, John Richardson, Mary Dellenbach, Sandra Tagliamonte, Brigitte Lina, Alina Schwartz, Stephanie Moss Dandridge, Banna Fakhoury, Jackie Feldman, Laura Roxana Garcia, Carla Christenson, Jessica Fernandez, Isaac Malagon and Lara Goodwin.
