Firms in South Florida’s real estate sector are making key hires ahead of the region’s busy season.

Okan Group, a Turkish developer, has appointed Michael Sadov from Fortune Development Sales to oversee sales at its planned Okan Tower in downtown Miami. The tower, located at 555 North Miami Avenue, is expected to reach 70 stories and will include a 316-key Hilton hotel, 236 condo-hotel units, 163 condominiums, 80,000 square feet of amenities space and 60,000 square feet of office space.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Sadov joined Fortune Development Sales in June. He previously held sales director positions at Cervera Real Estate and Compass. His past projects include Paramount Miami Worldcenter, Canyon Ranch Living Miami Beach, Aventura ParkSquare and One Bal Harbour.

Okan Group initially launched sales for the project in 2020 but paused during the pandemic before relaunching them in 2021.

In legal sector moves, Weiss Law of Miami has hired Ben Miller as Of Counsel. Miller is a real estate tax attorney who most recently worked as counsel at Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone for a year. His background also includes roles at DarrowEverett and Greenspoon Marder.

Weiss Law was launched last year by Adam J. Weiss and Sebastian Bohorquez after both worked together at Solomon Cooperman Recondo & Weiss in Miami. The firm handles acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing matters as well as litigation and zoning issues.

Additionally, Claudia Cornejo—the founder of Claudia & Associates Real Estate Group in Virginia—will join Coldwell Banker Realty’s Miami office. Cornejo started her team in 2004 and has sold over 1,000 homes throughout her career. She will divide her time between Miami and Washington D.C., according to her LinkedIn profile.
