Investor Edmond Harbour has purchased a waterfront home at 1821 West 27th Street in Miami Beach for $34 million, according to sources familiar with the transaction. The seller was Dr. Mark Jaffe and Patricia Jaffe. The deal was handled by John Sandberg of Compass, who listed the property, and Julian Johnston of the Corcoran Group, who represented the buyer.

This acquisition brings Harbour’s total spending on two adjacent Sunset Islands lots to $60.5 million. Last year, he bought the neighboring property at 1835 West 27th Street for $26.5 million, also with Johnston representing him.

Property records show that Harbour is connected to several entities, including Abode18 LLC, Adobe21 LLC, and Metier Capital. Through Adobe21, he acquired another Sunset Islands waterfront home at 2121 Lake Avenue for $14.1 million in 2022.

The house at 1821 West 27th Street, located on Sunset Island II, was built in 1940 and sits on 0.6 acres. It features seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and has 150 feet of waterfront. The Jaffes originally bought the property for $1.2 million in 1989. The home was marketed as a teardown and listed for $37.5 million in September before going under contract the following day.

Julian Johnston declined to comment on Harbour’s plans for the newly acquired property.

Purchasing neighboring properties to assemble larger estates has become more common among wealthy buyers in South Florida’s exclusive neighborhoods. In September, billionaire Patrick Dovigi bought an adjacent property for $15 million next to his existing Sunset Islands mansion purchased for $27.5 million.

Other recent high-profile deals on the Sunset Islands include Alden Global Capital’s sale of a waterfront home for $25.4 million earlier this month, after acquiring it for $9.5 million in 2021. In June, Oren Alexander sold his mansion on the islands for $51.5 million while awaiting trial on federal charges.
