IAM Union members and supporters of Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines (GDA | TLC) convened in Las Vegas for a charity event supporting the organization’s work. The gathering featured various fundraising activities, including a sporting clay shoot, race car driving, ax throwing, golf, and a gala dinner.

IAM International President Brian Bryant expressed appreciation for the turnout and support from participants and sponsors. He specifically acknowledged IAM Union members from different territories for their fundraising contributions. “We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make this event possible,” Bryant said on behalf of the entire IAM Executive Council.

The event’s Saturday night gala dinner had a baseball theme and was attended by over 1,000 supporters. During the dinner, the “Gift of Sight” awards were presented to David Sullivan, IAM Eastern Territory General Vice President; Arthur Maratea, TCU/IAM National President; and Southwest Airlines.

Several speakers addressed attendees about the positive impact service dogs have on recipients’ lives. A Canadian military veteran shared his personal story involving his PTSD service dog named Oakley.

The mission of GDA | TLC is to provide service dogs to individuals who are blind or have conditions such as PTSD or autism.
