The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Union announced on Mar. 26 that it will host the 2026 Kourpias K-9 Classic motorcycle ride to support Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines. The event is scheduled for July 10-12, 2026, and will take riders through various scenic routes in Washington state.

The annual ride aims to raise funds for Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines, an organization that provides service dogs to visually impaired individuals, veterans, and families affected by autism. Organizers say the event brings together IAM members and supporters who want to contribute to a cause with meaningful impact.

According to the announcement, participants will travel through Puget Sound, alpine mountain passes, river valleys, orchards, vineyards, and North Cascades National Park during the three-day event. IAM Union Western Territory General Vice President Robert “Bobby” Martinez said: “The IAM Western Territory is proud to host this year’s traditional Kourpias K9 Classic motorcycle ride to support our union’s favorite charity, GDA | TLC. This ride is so important to so many of our IAM members who are proud to contribute to a cause that brings us together in service.”

Supporters can donate at several levels ranging from $100 for “Puppy Treats” up to $75,000 for “Nose to Tail,” which covers the average cost of providing a service dog and includes premium recognition at the event. Corporate sponsorship opportunities are also available with varying benefits based on contribution level.

Organizers encourage local unions and members not only to participate but also assemble teams or seek employer sponsorships. The union hopes these efforts will help make a difference for those served by Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines.
