The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) has announced the opening of its 2026 IAM Scholarship Competition. Applications will be accepted online starting October 1, 2025, with a deadline set for February 6, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Eligibility for the competition extends to IAM members who have maintained two years of continuous service, as well as their children who are current high school seniors in the United States and Canada. The application process, rules, and further information can be accessed through the IAM Scholarship Competition page.

For the previous year’s competition, more than 300 applications were received. Sixteen scholarships, each valued at $4,000 per student, were awarded to members and their children. In addition to traditional scholarships, there is also a vocational-technical two-year scholarship available for both members and their children.

According to the IAM, “The IAM Scholarship Fund, used exclusively to make these awards possible, was established by the 1960 IAM Grand Lodge Convention delegates.”

Further details about eligibility and application procedures can be found on the official IAM Scholarship website.
