Fifteen members, staff, and activists from the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers participated in an advanced Organizing III training program at the Winpisinger Center in late March.
The program is designed to strengthen the union by equipping participants with advanced communication skills and teaching strategies for organizing within their local chapters. Such training aims to support the long-term growth and stability of the labor movement.
According to organizers, attendees came from a variety of industries, including air transport, aerospace, and automotive. The week-long session emphasized collaboration as participants worked together to master different teaching techniques and adapt to various learning styles.
The course prepares union representatives not only to improve their own skills but also to teach others how to organize effectively. By focusing on these abilities, graduates are expected to lead future organizing committees within their locals.
A video report about the training was made available for those interested in learning more about the program’s approach and outcomes.
