A historic mansion in Palm Beach, known as Casa del Ensuenos, has been listed for sale at $175 million following a significant renovation. The estate, located at 800 South County Road, was originally built in 1923 and designed by Addison Mizner, a key figure in shaping the area’s Mediterranean Revival style. The property covers 1.5 acres along the Intracoastal Waterway and features 200 feet of waterfront.

The home is situated just north of Mar-a-Lago Club and is one of only two Venetian-style mansions Mizner built in Palm Beach. It received landmark status from the town in 1980.

Businesswoman Ann DesRuisseaux purchased Casa del Ensuenos for $24 million in 2020. After facing repeated flooding from Lake Worth Lagoon—especially during king tides and major storms—DesRuisseaux initiated a large-scale restoration that included raising parts of the structure to combat rising sea levels. Approval for these changes required several Town Council hearings.

While the total cost of renovations has not been disclosed, reports indicate it ran into millions of dollars. The project has drawn attention as an example of how luxury estates in Palm Beach are responding to climate challenges.

The estate offers approximately 27,000 square feet of living space, with about 21,500 square feet air-conditioned. It includes 15 bedrooms, 18 bathrooms, and five half-bathrooms. Notable architectural elements are a half-round stair tower, lakefront balconies, cast-stone details, and a courtyard archway that previously served as a yacht entrance.

Margit Brandt of Premier Estate Properties holds the listing for Casa del Ensuenos. Brandt told the outlet: “one-of-one” and “one of the most iconic renovations in Palm Beach history.”

In comparison to other high-end listings in the area, Palm Beach’s most expensive current offering is an oceanfront estate on the North End priced at $205 million. Nationally, Florida set a record last year when the DeGroote family sold their Naples waterfront home for $225 million.
