Florida State University’s Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship (JMI) will host its second Accelerate Franklin Entrepreneurship Program (AFEP) boot camp this December in Eastpoint, Florida. The program is designed to support entrepreneurs in Franklin County and nearby areas who are seeking to develop their early-stage, micro, or small business ideas into sustainable ventures.
Tori Kilanowskiai, a graduate of the first AFEP cohort, described her experience as follows: “The AFEP Boot Camp was an invaluable experience. I got the chance to network with great people, hear incredible stories from entrepreneurs, and learned so much great information about starting a business. It was a massive boost of knowledge, encouragement and inspiration!”
The upcoming boot camps will be held on three consecutive Fridays—December 5, 12, and 19—from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve in Eastpoint. Each session includes a networking lunch for participants.
Those interested in participating are encouraged to submit applications online by November 28. Additional details are available on the program’s website at jimmoraninstitute.fsu.edu/oyster.
Participants will receive practical instruction on launching and growing businesses from FSU faculty and experienced entrepreneurs. Topics covered include creating viable business concepts, understanding markets, developing profit models, establishing operations, marketing strategies, and basic financial literacy.
The Jim Moran Institute is part of the Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship at Florida State University. Its mission is to cultivate entrepreneurial leaders through executive education, applied training programs, public recognition initiatives, and research efforts aimed at advancing entrepreneurship practices.
