Florida State University will host its 2025 Homecoming from October 24 to November 2, inviting alumni, students, parents, and friends to participate in a series of events under the theme “Legacy in Every Frame.” The university aims to bring together the FSU community to honor traditions, foster connections, and recognize the achievements of its alumni.
The Homecoming schedule includes several signature events. These are Homecoming Live, the Homecoming Parade, Alumni Awards, and the football game against Wake Forest on Saturday, November 1. The football game will also serve as FSU’s Seminole Heritage game. During halftime, the Homecoming Chief and Princess will be announced in a ceremony that celebrates the university’s relationship with the Seminole Tribe of Florida.
Events begin on Friday, October 24 with Chalk on Legacy Walk at noon along FSU’s Legacy Walk. Student organizations will create chalk designs as part of a competition.
Homecoming Live takes place on Saturday evening at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center from 7-10 p.m., featuring R&B singer-songwriter Mariah the Scientist as a special guest artist. On Monday, October 27, Bingo for a Cause will be held in the Student Union Ballrooms from 5-7 p.m., offering students an opportunity to connect with organizations focused on community service.
Spirit Night is scheduled for Tuesday evening at the Askew Student Life Center Courtyard from 5:30-9:30 p.m., where attendees are encouraged to wear Garnet and Gold for live performances and competitions.
Voting for Homecoming Chief and Princess takes place online on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., open to current students. That afternoon also features Odds and Evens tournaments in kickball and flag football at Main Campus Fields.
Thursday brings the Homecoming Festival at Union Green starting at 1 p.m., followed by the National Pan-Hellenic Council Step Show in the Student Union Ballrooms from 7-10 p.m.
Friday’s events include an Emeriti Alumni Society luncheon at Beth Moor Lounge beginning at 11:30 a.m., providing graduates from fifty or more years ago with opportunities to reconnect and tour campus. The annual Homecoming Parade runs from 2-3:30 p.m., honoring FSU Police Department personnel as grand marshals represented by Police Chief Jason Trumbower (B.S. ’98). The parade route travels north from the Civic Center parking lot along Macomb Street before turning onto College Avenue and Copeland Street.
The FSU Alumni Awards ceremony takes place Friday evening at Goodwood Museum & Gardens from 6-9 p.m., recognizing recipients of several distinguished awards including Reubin O’D. Askew Young Alumni, Inspire, Circle of Gold, and Bernard F. Sliger awards. Details about registration can be found at gonol.es/alumniawards2025.
Saturday begins with Grads Made Good Awards and a breakfast event at Bricks & Brass from 8:30-10:30 a.m., honoring alumni who have made significant impacts in their fields; registration details are available at gonol.es/GMG2025. Alumni network tailgates precede the football game later that day.
Homecoming concludes Sunday morning with an induction brunch and awards ceremony hosted by the Emeriti Alumni Society at Dodd Hall’s Heritage Museum at 10 a.m., during which members of the Class of 1975 will receive commemorative medallions recognizing their fifty-year milestone.
