Beginning January 20, the Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi will introduce a free weekday commuter route in Miami Beach. The new service, called Miami Beach Water Taxi, aims to assist residents and employees with daily travel between Maurice Gibb Memorial Park and Venetian Marina.

The commuter service will run Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Departures are scheduled every hour from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and every 30 minutes from 4:30 p.m. until the end of service. Two vessels, each able to carry up to 55 passengers, will operate on this route.

“This service is about supporting the local workforce and offering a practical alternative to driving,” said Bill Walker, CEO of Water Taxi. “By providing a free commuter route during the workweek, we’re helping reduce traffic congestion while giving people a convenient and enjoyable way to experience Miami Beach from the water.”

No tickets or reservations are needed for this complimentary ride. The goal is to improve mobility within Miami Beach and offer commuters an alternative that may help decrease traffic on city roads.

Riders can find updates about schedules and other details by following Water Taxi’s social media channels or by visiting the official website of the City of Miami Beach.

Water Taxi operates transportation services along South Florida’s waterways, connecting both residents and visitors with key destinations by boat.
