Florida State University, in partnership with the Claude Pepper Foundation, will host a celebration on September 12, 2025, to mark the 125th anniversary of Senator Claude Pepper. The event is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Broad Auditorium in the Claude Pepper Center Building on FSU’s campus.
The program includes a keynote address by James C. Clark, senior lecturer at the University of Central Florida. Presentations will focus on Senator Pepper’s impact on Florida State University, his contributions to public service, health care policy, and advocacy for older adults. The schedule also features the first public screening of “The Legacy of Claude Denson Pepper,” a documentary about his career and influence in American politics during the twentieth century.
Attendees can participate in a continental breakfast starting at 8 a.m., followed by presentations and a buffet lunch at noon.
“This event offers a unique opportunity to honor and reflect on Sen. Pepper’s decades of service and the values he championed, many of which continue to shape public policy and academic life at Florida State University and beyond.”
Seating is limited for this event, so those interested are encouraged to RSVP by September 1, 2025.
