Florida State University is set to welcome students back to campus for the spring 2026 semester with a series of events under the “Welcome FSU” program. The activities, organized by the Division of Student Affairs, will run from Tuesday, Jan. 6 through Friday, Jan. 16.

The “Welcome FSU” initiative is designed to help both new and returning students explore opportunities on campus and connect with peers. Events include guided tours to help students locate their classrooms, social gatherings in residence halls, and various fairs introducing student organizations, intramural sports, and university resources.

Amy Hecht, vice president for Student Affairs at Florida State University, stated: “We love highlighting our campus events, sharing ways to get involved and providing resources and activities so students feel at home while attending FSU. Our hope is that they find a community they want to be part of and keep engaging in areas that matter to them outside their classroom experience.”

The schedule features a range of activities such as photo opportunities on Landis Green for the first day of classes, health information sessions with complimentary refreshments at the Health & Wellness Center, movie screenings at the Askew Student Life Center Theater, sports tournaments including basketball games against NC State, gaming events at the ASLC Garnet Gaming Lounge, bowling and billiards nights in the Student Union Lower Level, as well as service project sign-ups through Engage TLH.

Students are also invited to attend involvement fairs where more than 200 student organizations will be represented. Additional events include sport club recruitment nights, gardening workshops at Seminole Organic Garden, outdoor adventure registration openings for Outdoor Pursuits trips near campus and throughout the southeast region, academic resource fairs highlighting tutoring services and honor societies, leadership organization fairs connecting students with service agencies on campus and in the community, as well as themed entertainment like karaoke nights and dance challenges.

“Welcome FSU” supports ongoing efforts by the Division of Student Affairs’ “Hello FSU!” campaign. This campaign offers weekly event highlights via social media (#HelloFSU), how-to guides for navigating campus processes (How To FSU), life management tips (Success Tips), feature stories about programs or people on campus (Spotlight Stories), reminders about key deadlines (ICYMI), updates on continuous campus events (Always On), and advice for preparing for different university experiences (Ready For).
