Florida State University recognized 75 graduates with honors medallions at a ceremony held on December 11, 2025, at the Augustus B. Turnbull III Florida State Conference Center.
The FSU Honors Program is designed to support students who show intellectual curiosity and commitment to academic achievement. The program aims to foster talent among students who have the potential and dedication to make a difference.
During the event, remarks were delivered by Paul Marty, associate vice provost for Academic Innovation and professor of information technology; Alanna Densmore, Outstanding Senior Scholar Graduate; and Julie Decker, associate vice president of University Advancement, Alumni Engagement, and president of the FSU Alumni Association.
Honors medallions were awarded in three categories. Fifty-seven graduates completed the University Honors Program by earning at least 18 Honors points as required. Thirteen graduates completed an Honors thesis in their major department through the Honors in the Major Program. Five students were recognized as Outstanding Senior Scholars for completing both programs with a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher.
The list of recipients includes students from various states across the U.S., as well as one international student from China. Their majors range from Music Therapy and Political Science to Nursing, Computer Science, Economics, and Media Studies.
Alanna Densmore addressed fellow students during the ceremony as an Outstanding Senior Scholar Graduate. Julie Decker also spoke at the event in her capacity as associate vice president of University Advancement and president of the FSU Alumni Association. Paul Marty provided remarks reflecting his role in academic innovation at FSU.
