The Florida State University College of Business has maintained its top position among four-year public institutions on Niche’s 2026 Best Colleges for Accounting and Finance in America list. The college also advanced to third place among public universities on the 2026 Best Colleges for Business in America ranking.

This marks the third consecutive year that the college has been recognized by Niche as the leading public institution for accounting and finance. In addition, it achieved fifth place overall nationwide in accounting and finance programs. The business college is now listed among the Top 10 on Niche’s overall Best Colleges for Business in America.

“These rankings further demonstrate the preeminent status of our degree programs, and it means even more to us that feedback from our students and alumni is a significant part of the assessment,” said Michael D. Hartline, dean of the College of Business. “Our graduates are certainly happy with their FSU business education and the future career trajectory it provides.”

Niche develops its rankings to help prospective students find colleges that fit their needs. The company uses data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education, including statistics like acceptance rates, graduation rates, retention figures, admission yields, and student-to-faculty ratios. The site features detailed profiles for each U.S. college or university along with ratings and reviews; nearly 9,000 reviews have been submitted about FSU specifically.

“My experience at Florida State University was life-changing,” wrote one reviewer on Niche’s website. “The resources were nearly unlimited. The academics pushed me to expect more out of myself than I thought I was capable of and gave me the ability to explore subjects that broadened me as a person.”

The same reviewer noted long-lasting relationships formed during their time at FSU: “I am still in contact … and plan to maintain those throughout my lifetime. I became a better student and a better person during my amazing time at FSU.”

FSU received high marks across several categories on its Niche report card, earning A+ grades in Academics, Athletics, Professors, and Student Life.

Hartline said interest continues to grow regarding FSU’s offerings: “Our laser focus on student success, our investments in new programs, additions of stellar faculty, and the January 2026 opening of our new facility, Legacy Hall, ensure that our students excel both while they are with us and after they graduate,” he said. “It’s a wonderful time to be a Seminole!”
