The Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) will begin a technical hearing on Monday, October 6, 2025, to review Florida Power & Light Company’s (FPL) request for a base rate increase. The session will give FPL and other parties the opportunity to present sworn testimony and evidence supporting their positions.
FPL submitted its petition to the FPSC on February 28, 2025. To collect feedback from customers, the Commission held ten service hearings during May and June of this year. These included three virtual meetings and seven in-person events, where customers could share opinions about FPL’s service quality and its proposed rate changes.
FPL serves six million customer accounts across Northwest and peninsular Florida.
The hearing is scheduled for Monday at 9:30 a.m., taking place at the Betty Easley Conference Center in Tallahassee. A live broadcast will be available on the FPSC website (click “Watch Live and Archived PSC Events”), and coverage may also appear on The Florida Channel depending on local programming.
