Florida Chamber Foundation identifies top 30 high-demand careers across regions

The Florida Chamber Foundation’s Future of Work Florida initiative has released a new list identifying the top 30 high-demand careers in each region of the state. The list is based on projections from FloridaCommerce and highlights occupations that are expected to see strong growth and replacement needs. These jobs also offer wages at or above the state’s current median of $22.53 per hour, or $46,860 annually.

The careers featured span several industries, including healthcare, information technology, education, business and professional services, architecture and construction, transportation and logistics, and hospitality. The report not only lists the top 30 high-demand careers by region but also provides information on projected income and training pathways for each career. Of the top jobs identified, 15 require a bachelor’s degree while 13 require postsecondary training or certification.

The list is presented at both the state and regional level and serves as a key resource for the Future of Work Florida initiative. This initiative is focused on aligning education with industry needs and preparing Floridians for current and future job opportunities. It aims to increase awareness and collaboration among students, parents, educators, and businesses to ensure a strong workforce for the state.

The Future of Work Florida initiative seeks to create the nation’s top workforce by 2030 by bringing together business leaders with workforce and education partners. The goal is to align education, training, and career pathways with the needs of modern industries. Strategic partnerships between employers, educational institutions, and policymakers are central to strengthening Florida’s talent pipeline and supporting economic growth.
