Florida has reached its highest ever high school graduation rate, with 92.2% of students graduating in the 2024-25 school year, according to an announcement made by Governor Ron DeSantis during the State of the State address on January 13, 2026. This figure marks a 2.5 percentage point increase over the previous year and a total rise of 4.9 percentage points since the 2021-22 academic year.
Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas commented on the achievement, stating: “Florida’s historic graduation rate reflects the power of Governor DeSantis’ strong leadership, clear expectations, and unwavering commitment to student success. These achievements demonstrate what can be accomplished when we uphold rigorous standards, provide robust support to schools and prepare every student for success beyond graduation.”
The state attributes this progress to policies focused on high standards, accountability measures, parental rights in education decisions, and expanded educational options for families throughout Florida.
