Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) and Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY) have formed a new partnership to create a graduate pathway program in supply chain management. The collaboration allows MCNY’s Bachelor of Business Administration graduates to apply directly to FAMU’s Master of Science in Supply Chain Management program.
The initiative is designed to increase access to higher education and help students from historically underrepresented communities prepare for leadership roles in business and global commerce.
“This partnership represents an important step forward for our students,” said President Charles J. Gibbs, Ed.D., Metropolitan College of New York. “Our scholars come to MCNY with resilience, determination, and a clear sense of purpose. Through Purpose-Centered Education, they learn to turn those qualities into leadership and impact. Working with FAMU, one of the nation’s most respected HBCUs, allows us to extend that mission into one of the fastest-growing and most in-demand career paths—Supply Chain Management. Together, we are creating pathways that empower our graduates to pursue meaningful careers and strengthen the communities we serve on local, national, and global levels.”
“Florida A&M University is honored to partner with Metropolitan College of New York in reflection of our shared commitment to expanding access to graduate education and preparing the next generation of leaders in supply chain management,” said President Marva B. Johnson, J.D., Florida A&M University. “We look forward to the continued academic and professional growth of these scholars as they learn how to improve efficiency, enhance customer satisfaction and ensure product cost effectiveness through our program.”
Graduates from MCNY who have achieved at least a 3.0 GPA will be eligible for application fee waivers when applying for FAMU’s MS-SCM program. They will also receive specialized advising services and may qualify for financial assistance.
The agreement includes joint academic programming as well as opportunities for faculty engagement and professional development in areas such as business, logistics, finance, and technology. These initiatives aim to deepen students’ understanding of global supply chain systems while preparing them for leadership positions.
“This partnership highlights the strength of MCNY’s business curriculum,” said Associate Dean Mahbubul H. Joarder, Ph.D., MCNY School for Business. “It connects our students to an advanced graduate program that builds on their foundation in management, strategy, and applied learning while opening the door to high-impact careers in supply chain management. This is an exciting and emerging field of study for our students, one that combines innovation, analytics, and global business strategy. It prepares them to meet new challenges and take part in shaping the future of how industries operate.”
Both institutions were founded on missions centered around providing quality education that can change individuals’ lives as well as those within their communities by offering accessible educational opportunities.
Founded in 1887, FAMU is a public historically Black university based in Tallahassee with several satellite campuses across Florida including Orlando; Crestview; Tampa; Jacksonville; and Miami.
MCNY was established more than 60 years ago by Audrey Cohen with a focus on combining applied skills with professional knowledge through its Purpose-Centered Education model at its Manhattan and Bronx campuses.
