Duke Energy Florida employees have contributed over $1 million to local communities in 2025 through a combination of direct donations, volunteer work, and matching funds from the Duke Energy Foundation. According to the company, employees gave more than $293,000 and volunteered nearly 11,000 hours between January and November. The value of these volunteer hours was estimated at over $380,000. The Duke Energy Foundation matched employee contributions and volunteer time with an additional $387,000.

Melissa Seixas, state president of Duke Energy Florida, said: “Caring for our customers is intrinsic to the work Duke Energy employees do every day, so it’s no surprise that they would choose to continue giving back however they can. I’m proud to work alongside these incredibly generous men and women who are living out our company’s core principles, and in turn, creating real, tangible value for the people and communities we serve.”

The foundation also made other investments across its 35-county service area in Florida during the year. These included $300,000 for climate resiliency projects, $789,000 in support of colleges and universities, $163,000 in emergency preparedness grants, and $125,000 aimed at reducing food insecurity.

Duke Energy Florida has stated it is working to manage costs while helping customers find ways to save on their bills. More information about savings programs can be found at duke-energy.com/SeasonalSavings.
