The Corcoran Group announced on Mar. 9 that Mercedes Saewitz has been named its regional vice president for Florida.

This appointment comes as Corcoran seeks to strengthen its presence in the state and support its offices in Miami Beach, Surfside, Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Delray Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Hobe Sound, 30A, St. Petersburg, Sarasota, and Panama City.

Saewitz is a Miami native with more than 25 years of experience in the real estate industry. She previously founded M Realty in 2003 before selling it in 2007 and joining One Sotheby’s International Realty. In 2015, she became a founding agent at Compass’s Miami office and later served as principal broker of Florida and national head representative of brokers at Compass. Most recently, she worked as senior vice president of operations at Aperture Global Real Estate.

“When you get a call from Pam Liebman, it’s sort of a career-defining moment,” Saewitz said about her recruitment by Corcoran’s CEO. “She’s someone you don’t say no to.”

Saewitz said her focus will be on agent experience and support across the state. She also expressed ambitions for growth: “I’d love to see Corcoran double agent count in a year,” she said. Regarding expansion into new markets, Saewitz noted that decisions would depend on where leadership saw opportunity but added, “I have a lot of dream-bigs.”

Her appointment follows recent changes in South Florida real estate leadership after the Compass-Anywhere Real Estate merger and the departure of Compass’ former regional vice president for Florida.
