Compass has expanded its operations to Florida’s Treasure Coast by bringing on a 15-agent team in Stuart. The New York-based real estate brokerage, led by CEO Robert Reffkin, has added the New Wave Group as its first team in the region. Sara Crombie leads the group, which specializes in luxury residential properties across Martin, Palm Beach, and St. Lucie counties.

According to Compass, the New Wave Group has completed more than $500 million in sales. The team includes agents Catherine Hudzina, Dana Netska, Ellen Pentland, Gayle Sokoloff, Genece Singer, Jake Newman, Jennifer Heins, Judy Cialone, Laura Trombetta, Mike Davis, Nina Blum, Susan Freytes, Susan Slutsky and Will Gluckman.

Brokerages have been expanding their presence in Florida following an increase in wealth migration to the state since the pandemic. Last year saw Keyes Company acquire a 24-agent brokerage in Fort Pierce within the Treasure Coast area.

Compass operates with over 33,000 agents nationwide and continues to invest heavily in mergers and acquisitions. While this is Compass’ first addition on the Treasure Coast, it has also increased its presence elsewhere in Florida. In 2022 it brought on a 20-agent team from the Panhandle’s 30A region (https://www.realtrends.com/articles/compass-adds-20-agent-team-in-floridas-30a-market/). In March of this year Compass opened a Downtown Naples office for 300 agents and staff (https://therealdeal.com/miami/2025/03/12/compass-opens-naples-office-with-300-agents-and-staff/), and in July added the Korman Group with 40 agents to its Boca Raton office (https://therealdeal.com/miami/2025/07/08/korman-group-leaves-coldwell-banker-for-compass-boca-raton-office/).

The company is also involved in national industry disputes. It is suing Zillow over private listings policies and announced plans to leave the National Association of Realtors’ Clear Cooperation Policy.
