Registration has opened for the City of Tallahassee’s spring sports leagues, which include options for both youth and adults. The programs offer opportunities in baseball, softball, beach volleyball, flag football, and slow pitch softball at various locations across the city.

Youth baseball is available for children ages 4 to 10 in recreational leagues divided into three age groups. Practices will start in late February, with the season ending on May 15. Locations include Buck Lake, Roberts and Springwood elementary schools; Deerlake Middle School; and several city parks such as Four Oaks and Winthrop. Registration is open until January 31.

Advanced league baseball for ages 7 to 10 requires tryouts at Levy Park. Players not selected are encouraged to join recreation leagues. Upper league baseball is also available for ages 11 to 14, with registration open through January 21.

For youth softball, girls ages 6 to 13 can participate in teams divided by age group. Practices begin in late February and the season runs through May 16 at locations including Buck Lake Elementary School and multiple city parks. Registration ends January 31.

The Tallahassee Fast Pitch Softball Association (TFPSA) offers competitive leagues for girls ages 8 to 14 and a recreational league for those aged 14 to 17 at Tom Brown Park. Evaluations are required for TFPSA participation, with registration closing on January 9.

Adults have several options as well. Beach volleyball leagues are offered for those aged 18 or older at Tom Brown Park on Monday nights (4v4) and Tuesday nights (2v2), running from March 30 through May 19. Team registration closes March 18.

Flag football leagues provide three levels of competition for adults over age 18. Games are held Sunday afternoons at Tom Brown Park from March 1 through April 26, with team registration open until February 18.

Adult slow pitch softball includes coed, men’s, church, senior men’s, and women’s divisions playing weeknights at Tom Brown Park from February 27 through May 15. Team registration closes February 11.

Volunteer coaches are needed for youth sports programs; head coaches receive a waived registration fee for their child’s team placement. Those interested can contact the Athletics Division staff at (850)891-3866.

There are also part-time paid positions available as umpires, referees, and concession workers throughout the year via the City of Tallahassee’s employment portal.

The City operates more than one hundred parks that host these sports programs along with other events throughout the year. More information about league details and registration can be found on Talgov.com/Parks.
