More than 3,200 members of IAM Union District 837 at Boeing’s St. Louis-area facilities are set to vote on a revised contract offer from the company on Sunday, August 3, starting at 10 a.m. Central Time. If union members reject the proposal, a strike is scheduled to begin at midnight on Monday, August 4.

The modified offer from Boeing includes several changes in response to the previous proposal’s rejection by union members on July 27. Notably, the company has withdrawn its Alternative Workweek Schedule (AWS) proposal, meaning that current overtime policies will remain in place. The new offer also introduces an annual $0.50 per hour pay additive for employees who have reached the maximum pay rate.

For retirement benefits, the revised agreement proposes a full $10 pension multiplier increase in the first year for eligible members who retire after January 1, 2026. This replaces the earlier plan of two separate $5 increases over years two and three.

Other aspects of Boeing’s offer remain unchanged from earlier proposals. These include a proposed 20% wage increase over the life of the contract, a $5,000 ratification bonus, vacation and sick leave provisions, and healthcare benefits.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) represents about 600,000 active and retired workers across industries such as aerospace, defense, airlines, shipbuilding, railroad, transit, healthcare, automotive and more throughout North America (goIAM.org).
