Reconstruction work has started at Beachview Villas, signaling progress in the island’s recovery after Hurricane Ian. The new villas are being built on the site of the former Beachview Cottages, which were destroyed by the hurricane in 2022.

The project was previously called White Pelican Villas and is part of Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts’ (SCBR) efforts to restore important locations for both residents and visitors. SCBR has been involved in developing hospitality services on Sanibel and Captiva for many years, focusing on balancing development with preserving the character of the islands.

“Having acquired Beachview in 1979, we are proud to honor the property’s rich heritage while thoughtfully rebuilding for the future,” said Tony Lapi, President and Chairman of the Board of Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts.

The new Beachview Villas will provide luxury accommodations that emphasize privacy and a coastal experience. Features will include spacious indoor and outdoor areas, full kitchens, and community spaces designed for families and groups.

A website providing information about Beachview Villas is now available at https://beachview-villas.com/. Guests can learn more about the project and sign up for updates. Reservations are expected to begin in spring 2026, with an opening planned for summer 2026.

Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts operates several properties on Sanibel and Captiva Islands. Its portfolio includes ‘Tween Waters Inn as well as previous management of Castaways Beach and Bay Cottages and West Wind Island Resort.
