Library workers at the Baltimore County Public Library, represented by IAM Local 4538, have regained their part-time jobs after a collective effort. According to the union, their contract provided essential protection and a platform for employees to advocate for themselves.
The group organized and supported each other to ensure that the terms of their agreement were upheld. “It’s protection. It’s a voice. It’s what gave them the power to fight and successfully get their jobs back,” stated the union.
Union representatives emphasized that this outcome highlights how standing together can help workers defend their positions and secure fair treatment in the workplace. “This victory is a reminder to working people everywhere: when workers stand together, they can defend their livelihoods, protect their futures, and win the dignity and respect they deserve,” according to IAM Local 4538.
